ELIOT ULLMAN
CPA

I am a native of Long Island, New York and relocated to California at an early age. I graduated from Miraleste High School in Palos Verdes and later earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from UCLA. For enjoyment at UCLA I played trumpet as a member of the UCLA Marching, Basketball, and Concert Bands playing at and watching UCLA sporting events and concerts. My wife, also a trumpet player, and I met in the UCLA Band.

After graduating from UCLA I attended Cal-State Northridge, and graduated with a Master’s degree in Accounting. My accounting career began as an auditor with Alexander Grant & Co. (now Grant Thornton). I earned my CPA certificate after passing all four parts of the CPA exam in one sitting.

I moved to private industry and held controller positions with several small and large companies and was also responsible for human resources, computer networks, and pension administration at some of these companies.

I returned to public accounting where I assist individuals and small businesses in solving their tax and business issues. My special skills include being a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and teaching computer classes in Excel, Word, Access, and QuickBooks.

I am a huge baseball fan and play trumpet with the UCLA Alumni Band. My wife Jodie and I have been married for 29 years. We like traveling to faraway places where we enjoy the culture and sights and I can use my photography talent.

BARBARA PONCE

I was born in New York City and raised in Woodside, NY with three siblings.

I attended William Cullen Bryant High School in Astoria, NY and Queens College in Flushing, NY. After tiring of the cold winter weather, we pulled up our roots and ventured to sunny California.

My background in the accounting world is quite varied. After many years in public accounting, I ventured into the private industry for many years and attained a different mindset being at the other end of the accounting spectrum.

My husband, Tony and I have been married since 1994. He is my soul mate and also gives balance to my life. We are avid NASCAR fans and my hobbies include counted cross stitching and reading. I have one son, Joseph, whom I am very proud of and he is a police officer. I have a large extended family who I love deeply. My Mom will be 90 this year and my father-in-law (who was in the Big Red 1 in World War II) will also turn 90 this year. I consider myself to be extremely blessed to have a wonderful family.

CHANDRA COHN

Chandra Cohn is an Administrative Assistant at Richards, Greenberg & Co. She also handles client bookkeeping and payroll. She has over 20 years’ administrative experience.

As well as working as an administrative assistant, she has also been a zookeeper and animal trainer at several amusement parks and for the film and television industry. She graduated from Moorpark College with an A.S. Degree in Exotic Animal Training and Management.

MARCIA RICHARDS
Director of First Impressions

Marcia is responsible for the distinctive way we answer the telephone and relate to clients. We call it 'putting our best foot forward'. She is in charge of all administrative activities.

The official QuickBooks certification program tests in-depth knowledge of QuickBooks and its business management solutions.

To become a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, completion of four rigorous, interactive self-study CD-ROM courses and passed online tests with a minimum of 90 percent proficiency are required. The required coursework included Installation and User Set-up, Tools to Optimize Client Support, Payroll, Job Costing, Purchase orders and industry-specific issues. Rachel and Katie plan to complete annual update courses to gain knowledge on the latest versions of QuickBooks.
